Rev. Jeremy J. Rodrigues, S.T.L

Father Rodrigues is a native of Bristol, Rhode Island and is the son of Joe and Cidalia (Araujo) Rodrigues. He attended Bristol public schools and graduated from Mt. Hope High School in the year 2000. After high school he went to Merrimack College to pursue a degree in International Business.

After some time of discernment, Father decided to enter the seminary to pursue a life of service in the priesthood. He entered the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence in 2001 and attended Providence College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in the year 2004.

Upon completing his bachelor’s degree, Father was assigned by Bishop Robert Mulvee to the North American College, in Rome, Italy, to continue his seminary formation. While in Rome, Father attended the Pontifical Gregorian University, where he earned a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (STB). On October 4, 2007, he was ordained a deacon by His Eminence, John Cardinal Foley, in Saint Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City.

On June 28, 2008, he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Thomas Tobin in the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul. He was assigned by Bishop Tobin to Saint Thomas More Parish for the summer of 2008 and assisted as scout chaplain at Camp Yawgoog in Rockville, RI. At the end of the summer, Father Rodrigues returned to Rome to complete his studies in liturgical theology at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Santa Croce) where he earned a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL).

In June of 2009, Father was assigned as assistant pastor of Saint Philip Parish, Greenville for three years. In 2012, he was appointed Administrative Secretary to Bishop Tobin, as well as the Episcopal Master of Ceremonies and the Director of the Office of Divine Worship for the Diocese of Providence.

Father was appointed the sixteenth pastor of Saint Margaret Parish, Rumford, in July of 2021 by Bishop Tobin while also remaining as Episcopal Master of Ceremonies and Director of the Office of Divine Worship for the Diocese of Providence.
